Cashless Catering and Revaluation Units
ICRTouch is able to provide clients with a reliable, easy to use cashless catering application using both EPoS terminals (tills)
and our revaluation unit, (IRV). IRV is a point of load terminal that allows the student to "top up" their card by cash if so
required or via the till.
ICRTouch interfaces with ParentPay, the application provider supplying hundreds of UK schools with a payment collection and income
management solution. This allows the parents to securely deposit money into their account that can then be spent by the child via
card at the catering points around their school.
Overview
The till and card reader talk to TMS our back office application which hosts the student details and in turn TMS interfaces with
ParentPay, drawing over student balances and deposits so that they can be spent via their cashless catering card.
Card Technology
ICRTouch can work on two card platforms and Fingerprint reading:
Magstripe Unit
- Cards are cheaper and not such a loss when children / students lose them
- Most EPOS units have built in MSR and so an external reader is not required on the tills
- Magstripe cards will run on Windows XP, XPE, Wepos, Vista & CE operating systems
- Cards can be blocked if lost or stolen
Mifare Unit
- Mifare cards are more expensive but are much higher spec and can support other applications on them such as access control, print
applications etc.
- Mifare cards are proximity cards and only require close contact with the reader not physical contact.
- Mifare cards will run on Windows XP, XPE, Wepos, Vista & CE operating systems
- Cards can be blocked if lost or stolen
Biometrics (Fingerprint)
We have now developed the revaluation unit to work with Biometrics (fingerprint) readers that will allow the business to run the
system without cards.
